The kids are bathed and in bed. The dog fed and petted. Dishes done, left over chili put away. The house, this home has settled as time passes. I closed the damper on the stove and filled it with wood. Set the alarm clock that I will shut off before it goes off. Same basic ceremony with a few exceptions that I have been living for years. Tonight is different, tonight I am lonesome. Just a tinge, a reminder of what it is like to miss somebody. This is not good.....but then again it isn't bad either.
